The idea for the Vista Hermosa library, located at Broetje Orchards, was conceived after the Executive Director of the Walla Walla County Rural Library had a conversation with a member of the Vista Hermosa school board. The school was expanding - and they needed a library. A plan was put into motion to include a library in the new school. Snake River Housing generously offered to build a space for the library into the new school at no cost to the library district. The library district agreed to staff the library, and furnish shelving, books, and furniture. The Vista Hermosa Library resides within the school and operates as a public library. After much work and cooperation, the library is now a reality and was dedicated in February 2005. |
